Best Value White-No discussion was needed for the tasters to select this as the best white in the tasting, poised, elegant and balanced it is just the antidote to those February blues.

2006 Estate Riesling
At the opposite end of the New World scale...lemon sorbet, kiwi fruit and a zinging acidity, this is really flavoursome, from the tiny Frankland River area of western Oz.

2004 Down South Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc
Thresher/Wine Rack £7.49 or three for £4.99 each.
Hailing from the Great Southern region, a long hike east of Margaret River, this Bordeaux-inspired red oozes leafy, oaky, hearty fruit- a perfect match for big, meaty winter food.
Thresher/Wine Rack £6.99/ three for £4.66 each.
Expect to hear lots more from the Frankland River area of Australia, whence this splendid, sweet, spicy, berry and herb-layered Bordeaux comes.
Jane Macquitty, 29 October 2005.
The Times Magazine.
Thresher/Wine Rack £6.99/£4.66 three for two.
A steal from Ferngrove of Western Australia at the lower price. Lovely freshness and restraint. A good wine to convince claret lovers there is life outside Bordeaux, if any still need convincing.
